During National Native American Heritage Month, we celebrate the countless contributions of Native peoples past and present, honor the influence they have had on the advancement of our Nation, and recommit ourselves to upholding trust and treaty responsibilities, strengthening Tribal sovereignty, and advancing Tribal self-determination.

Early Morning

I want to give a shout out to all of the parents who helped to assist with Octoberfest. Octoberfest was a huge success. Both scholars and staff looked festive in their costumes. It was an amazing bonding experience for all. It was good to see so many smiling faces on both students and adults throughout the building. We will continue to plan fun activities like Octoberfest, so please ensure your scholar is meeting their behavior goals in order to participate. As a reminder, parents, Oktoberfest is our fall celebration. All scholars must be back in uniform tomorrow October 31st. Scholars may not dress up for Halloween.

One of the items that came up during the Coffee with the Principal was that many parents still do not have access to PowerSchool. PowerSchool is our online platform that allows parents to see their scholars grades in real time. Sign up forms went home last week for parents to gain access to PowerSchool. We need all parents to have access so that they can monitor their scholars' grades on PowerSchool at least once a week.
Please click on the link to complete the sign up form to get access to PowerSchool.
Another item that came up in the Coffee with the Principal was that parents want to be clear on the expectations and criteria for scholars to earn their academic recognitions. In general, scholars need to hit their goals on iReady, Achieve 3000, Lexia or PowerUp weekly to be recognized. Detailed information will be sent out with specific information on goals broken down by grade level. Please familiarize yourself with these programs and their associated goals. Scholars will take their computers home every Monday. The online programs are designed to fill gaps in scholar’s learning. This is a great opportunity for parents to see what skills your scholars need more support in. Scholars who do 30 mins of iReady on Monday will earn 5 scholar dollars.
