Principal's Message

Hello View Park Prep Elementary Parents and Scholars,

I am Mr. Washington, the Proud Principal of View Park Preparatory Elementary.  I call myself the proud principal because I am first of all proud of myself. Pride is a sense of happiness or joy based on one's accomplishments. I have worked hard to get to this point and I am honored to be able to serve the View Park students, staff, parents and community.  I believe it is important to take pride in the work that one does. I believe the work we do at View Park Prep Elementary is vital to the future of every one of our scholars as well as the community.  When we instill a sense of pride in our students.  We are teaching them the value of hard work and giving them the opportunity to feel the deep intrinsic satisfaction of accomplishing one’s hard earned goals.

My expectation is that all students and staff come to school S.H.A.R.P! each day.  S.H.A.R.P! stands for Safe, Honest, Accountable, Respectful and Proud.  I hold myself to this expectation as well.  As leader, my job is to empower the students, staff, parents and community.  I ask for each of these sets of stakeholders to work together as a T.E.A.M. to grow in each of our S.H.A.R.P! tenets.  T.E.A.M. stands for Together Everyone Achieves More!  It is through the intentional practice of the S.H.A.R.P! Tenets combined with the T.E.A.M. philosophy that we are able to leave a positive mark on the school and community.
