View Park Elementary Principal's Message

Principal Dwayne Washington
I am Mr. Washington, the Proud Principal of View Park Preparatory Elementary School.  I call myself the proud principal because I believe it is important to take pride in the work that one does. I believe the work we do at View Park Prep Elementary is vital to the future of our scholars as well as the community.  When we instill a sense of pride in our students, we are teaching them the value of hard work and giving them the opportunity to feel the deep intrinsic satisfaction of accomplishing one’s own self determined goals.

My expectation is that all students and staff come to school S.H.A.R.P. each day.  S.H.A.R.P. stands for Safe, Honest, Accountable, Respectful and Proud.  I hold myself to this expectation as well.  As leader, my job is to empower the students, staff, parents and community.  I ask for each of these sets of stakeholders to work together as a T.E.A.M. to grow in each of our S.H.A.R.P. tenets.  T.E.A.M. stands for Together Everyone Achieves More!  It is through the intentional practice of S.H.A.R.P. combined with the T.E.A.M. philosophy that we are able to leave a positive mark on the school and community.
