Amanda Merced: Social Emotional Learning Specialist

Amanda Merced is the Social Emotional Learning Specialist for the Inner City Education Foundation (ICEF) Public Schools, a network of 7 schools in Los Angeles, CA. With 8 years in Education and activism, Amanda strives to create "positive, sustainable, change" in all sectors of her work. She prides herself in finding and creating differentiated strategies for teachers and students to collaborate in the classroom and enhance their overall wellness academically, socially, and emotionally.

Prior to joining ICEF in 2022, Amanda has worked as a Social and Emotional Learning Coach for high schools in Atlanta, a curriculum specialist for a private school for autism in South Florida, and most recently a 9th and 10th grade English teacher within Houston. She has extended her passions to bridging the gap of traditional education and social emotional learning to sharpen the skills and mindsets of all involved in a child's educational journey.

She completed her Bachelor's in Criminology and Sociology (minor) from The Florida State University (2014) and Masters in Education Policy and Leadership from American University (2018)
