Welcome to the 2020 - 2021 school year. ICEF has been working all summer in preparation for a wonderful year. Thank you for making us your school of choice.
I have a few reminders and suggestions for this week.

Teachers are taking daily attendance. California is mandating that attendance be composed of both attending live sessions with the teacher, which is now referred to as synchronous learning, and completion of independent work, which is now referred to as asynchronous learning. In order for a student to be considered present at school, according to California law, students will need both.

Food Distribution for students will happen only on Mondays and Wednesdays on our school campus from 10:00 - 12:00, thru a drive thru service. Monday you will receive breakfast and lunch for Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday you will receive breakfast and lunch for Wednesday thru Friday.

Please take some time this week to speak to your scholar about online etiquette. When students are presenting themselves in a digital meeting they should be dressed for the day and sitting in the designated area where they are doing their online learning. Although this time period has them in the comforts of their own home, they are still in school and we want them to understand that they should be bringing their most scholarly self to all online forums. All Teachers will be going over expectations for Zoom. Students will be required to show themselves during all of their Zoom sessions.

Creating a daily schedule and a designated work space for your scholar will help with work productivity. We want to make sure that they stay on as much of a structured schedule as possible. This will help with motivation, assignment completion, and executive functioning skills. You can post their schedule by their designated work space. This is the perfect place because it is already equipped with their necessary materials for each work day.
That's all that I have for you this week, please remember that tomorrow is the first day of school and that some scholars begin promptly at 8:30 while others start in the afternoon at 12:00. Have a safe and healthy week.
