A Note from the Principal
I am Mr. Washington, the proud principal of View Park Preparatory Elementary School, where we embody a culture of excellence and integrity. View Park Prep Elementary is a Leader in Me School. We use the "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" to teach our scholars the skills necessary to become a leader. We believe that by giving our scholars leadership opportunities, they will flourish and grow in their confidence, ultimately flourishing into their best selves!
As a leader, my role is to empower students, staff, parents, and our community. Together, we form a T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More), dedicated to growing in each aspect of our S.H.A.R.P. philosophy. It is through this intentional practice and collective effort that we make a lasting, positive impact on our school and beyond. We are committed to providing our scholars with culturally relevant instruction that both equips them with empowering knowledge but also instills invaluable virtues such as intrinsic motivation, self-determination, and perseverance. At the core of our approach are our S.H.A.R.P. principles: Safe, Honest, Accountable, Respectful, and Pride. I hold myself and our scholars, along with our staff, to these high expectations. We teach our scholars to be S.H.A.R.P. in all aspects of their lives so that they can become productive citizens and leave a positive mark on their school and community.
