Our schools are safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for every student, regardless of immigration status. Below are important details about your rights, protections, and the steps we are taking to ensure our schools remain secure:

Protection of Student Information: Schools are required to keep student records private. Immigration enforcement agencies cannot access student information without consent, a warrant, or a court order.
Sensitive Locations Policy: Schools are designated as “sensitive locations,” meaning that immigration enforcement actions are generally restricted from occurring on school grounds.

ICEF’s Commitment to Safety and Privacy
ICEF Public Schools follows strict policies to safeguard the privacy and security of student and family information. We do not collect or require information about a student’s or family member’s immigration status for enrollment. ICEF will not disclose information that might indicate a student’s or family’s citizenship or immigration status if the disclosure is not authorized by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). ICEF Public Schools personnel must also receive consent from the student’s parent or guardian before a student can be engaged by any officer seeking to enforce the civil immigration laws at a school facility, unless the officer presents a valid effective warrant signed by a judge, or presents a valid, effective court order. |

Our principals and key front-line staff will be receiving training on how to handle situations involving immigration enforcement at school sites and to protect students’ rights.
