Dr. Peter Watts, Jr. | [email protected]
Dr. Peter Watts, Jr., born and raised in South Los Angeles, has dedicated his life to education, equity, and community empowerment. CEO and Co-Founder of the Watts of Power Foundation, Dr. Watts leads The Village Initiative, a pioneering program designed to recruit, train, and retain more Black male teachers. His educational career spans more than 25 years, including LAUSD at Compton Avenue Elementary School and seven years at ICEF Public Schools as a teacher and founding principal of Thurgood Marshall Middle School, where he implemented a blended learning and project-based instructional model. He went on to serve as ICEF’s Director of Blended Learning, developing an innovative, comprehensive approach to integrating technology into education. Dr. Watts earned his B.A. in Mass Communications from CSU, Dominguez Hills, his M.Ed. in Administration and Leadership from the University of Phoenix, and a Master’s and Doctorate in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. |
