College Placement

College Readiness

The ICEF College Readiness Department is an integral component of the student experience at our schools.

Our mission is to realize ICEF’s vision of sending all students to the top colleges and universities in the nation. The individualized college counseling program helps guide all students in the preparation, application and selection of a college or university that best fits their personal goals and achievements. The department starts the process with ninth graders and follows them through acceptance.

ICEF college counseling operates on these basic principles:
  • ICEF families are our clients
  • Counselors are accountable to our community
  • We are here to help all families regardless of previous knowledge or experience
  • The entire family must be engaged

All students receive the following college readiness services:

9th & 10th Grade

  • Academic advising --  reviewing each student’s class schedule to ensure that the student is taking appropriate college preparatory courses that will be required for admission to selective colleges and universities.
  • Parent meetings to provide information on college admissions.

Graduation Rates

ICEF’s commitment to preparing our scholars to attend and compete at the top colleges in the nation is evident in our exceptional graduation rates, which surpass those of our neighboring schools and the state:

COLLEGE-READY GRADUATION RATES

ICEF not only prepares our scholars to graduate from high school but also positions them to be accepted to the top colleges in the nations. All high school scholars are enrolled in a complete sequence of college preparatory A-G sequence and must complete these courses with a passing grade of “C” or better to meet the minimum University of California (UC)/California State University (CSU) and high school graduation requirements. Like our graduation rates, our college-ready graduation rates well exceed the neighboring school and the state.

COLLEGE ATTENDANCE:

The success of ICEF’S most recent graduating seniors proves that our academic and college-readiness models are effective in transitioning our scholars from secondary to post-secondary education at both 2-year and 4-year institutions.
